Project Overview
Product Design/Brand Identity
Project duration August 2022
Problems - The problem with most candle brands is that they are not environmentally friendly or plastic-free. Most candles are made from a combination of wax, paraffin, and fragrance. These ingredients are often combined with plastic, which makes the candle a major environmental disaster. Most candles are not biodegradable, meaning they will take up space in our landfill for years to come.
Fortunately, there are a just a few environmentally friendly and plastic-free candle brands on the market like Twinkle. These brands use natural ingredients and are not manufactured with any plastic. Additionally, they are biodegradable, so they will break down in the environment.
Goals - The company wishes to be environmentally friendly and plastic-free. They want to use natural, sustainable materials whenever possible, and to reduce their environmental impact. They also want to create a candle that is visually pleasing to the eye and smells great.
Research
When people are not typically environmentally conscious they may be swayed more by the aesthetic appeal of the product rather than the environmental impact.
Research has shown how many factors may influence the aesthetic appeal of a product and its associated revenue, including:
The quality of the design.
The creativity of the branding.
The uniqueness of the product.
The overall marketing strategy employed by the company.
Mood Board
Blue and green are commonly associated with sustainable, environmentally friendly products and plastic-free packaging because they are the colors of the environmental movement.
Additionally, purple is often used in marketing products to evoke happiness. This is because purple is one of the most calming colors and it is often associated with luxury and happiness.
